Not too long ago i realized that there haven´t been any updates to the VP/VQ section in a long time. I had to do something about that, so i decided to create three new Orion profiles. The three brand new profiles depicts aircraft from VP-6, VP-23 and VP-67, all of them very colorful aircraft, but not all equally well known. These markings i found to be quite interesting in each their own way, so i´m glad to be able to add them to my site. Let me know how you like em ! To all of the American visitors to this site, I would like to wish you all a happy 4th of July ! What better way to celebrate than with this very colorful Six of the Florida ANG ? For a better view of this aircraft make sure to visit the Florida ANG section, by clicking the image below: F-106A Delta Dart, 125th Fighter Interceptor Group, 159th Fighter Interceptor Squadron, Florida ANG, 1976
Here´s a F-4D Phantom of the 81st TFW, 78th TFS as it appeared in 1972, while operating out of Bentwaters AFB in the UK. This F-4 Phantom displays a typical paint scheme from that period, with the SEA camo scheme, white tailcode and serial number and the red rudder top which belonged to the 78th TFS "Bushmasters". Without a doubt one of the most depicted aircraft ever: The late 70s F-14A Tomcats of VF-84 "Jolly Rogers"..and with good reason ! Few aircraft have ever sported a paint scheme that´s a readily recognizable as this one. For aviation artists such as myself, this subject have been sitting very high on the to-do list for many years. With the completion of this rendition, the VF-84 lineage have got a significant step closer to completion, and now both the F-8C, F-4B,, F-4J and the F-14A is now in the VF-84 section, which you can be directed to, if you click the image below. The Tomcat was introduced into fleet service by CVW-14 aboard USS Enterprise (CVAN-65). The newly formed VF-1 and VF-2 made that introduction, and with VF-1 already done, I started work on a F-14A Tomcat of VF-2 "Bounty Hunters". From the photo reference i have been able to find, it seems that the chin pod of VF-1 was different from the one on the VF-2 birds. Can anybody disclose why that is ? So, here goes: The first F-14 Tomcat have finally been made complete and is now in the VF section! This model have been a loooong time coming, and i must say it was difficult to get right. I´m pretty happy with the result at this point, so with a few tweaks i´ll start mass producing Tomcat drawings 🙂 Next up: VF-2 "Bounty Hunters" Here´s a few detail shots: Click the thumbnail below to be taken to the VF-1 section: F-14A Tomcat, VF-1 "Wolfpack", 1974
I couldn´t wait any longer, so a few weeks ago i started work on the first F-14 Tomcat base model. Having modeled this aircraft a few times before, i knew what i was getting myself into, and as ever before, it was quite difficult to get the shape of the fuselage/intake section right. Now i´m pretty happy with this one, but I may have to do alterations along the way. I´m beginning to think about what squadrons to depict for starters and VF-1 and VF-2 comes to mind. More progress will follow shortly.

Not long ago I realized that I had never made an Esk. 726 section on my site ! That was an error that needed to be corrected at once, and to compensate to those of you that have been visiting my site in hopes of finding the Esk. 726 section, not to find any, I´ve added a brand new profile: A F-16A Fighting Falcon as their appeared in the mid-90s. By popular demand: a F-106A Delta Dart of the 49th Fighter Interceptor Squadron. This aircraft was assigned to the CO of the squadron, which teh fuselage bands are a tell tale indication of. The 49th was the last active F-106 squadron which kept on flying the ultimate interceptor until 1987. Click the link below to be taken to the 21st Air Division section.
