VMFA-314 Lineage pt. 2

After completing the VMFA-314 profile lineage print, I had to work on a 3D print too. This piece features all 6 aircraft types the Black Knights have operated: F4U-1C Corsair, F9F-5 Panther, F4D-1 Skyray, F-4B Phantom (represents all Phantom variants the squadron have operated), FA-18A++ Hornet and the F-35C Lightning II. This piece is available both as wall art (many size and medium options to choose from, phone cover, t-shirts, towels etc etc etc from fineartamerica.com. To purchase click the link below:

Black Knights lineage

This is my first Marine lineage print, so i´ve been excited to show this to you all. This piece depicts the linegae of the VMFA-314 "Black Knights". Their first aircraft was the F4U-1 Corsair which was used in the late war years in the Pacific theater. The squadron was decommssioned in 1947, but recommissioned a few year later flying F9F-5 Panthers. In the late 50s the Panthers were traded for the more capable F4D-1 Skyray. The Phantom came into service in the early 60s, and remained in service in 1982 when the FA-18 Hornet would take the Phantoms place. The Hornet remained in squadron service until 2019, when the squadron began training on the F-35C Lightning. Please let me know how you like this new lineage print, and if there´s any other lineage print you would like to see completed. This piece will go on sale very soon.

Monday Blues

The Blue Angels: The US Navy demonstration team! I have had countless requests for doing profiles of these blue beauties for years, and now what the time to do them. This batch contains the FA-18C Hornet, the A-4F Skyhawk, and lastly the F-4J Phantom. With these models done, i will now move on to doing 3d scenes with them. I have already started doing a FA-18C 3d scene and it looks very promising. Click the video to get a overview of the three new profiles, a bit of insight to how they are made, and a few details too. If you watch the video, make sure to subscribe to my channel, hit like and leave a note...I would appreciate it very much ! The Blue Angels Gallery:

Semper Fi, Legacy Hornets

As i´m currently working on a series of 10 Hornet prints, I have completed a couple of new profiles. These two new profiles are a FA_18A+ Hornet from VMFA-115 and a FA-18C Hornet from VMFA-232, both as they appear right now. My plan is to cover more USMC squadrons, but also to show the Navy squadrons some attention (more on that later). Below you´ll find the two album sin which the profiles are featured. As usual: Let me know what you think !

The Legacy Hornet have arrived

As teased earlier in the day, the Legacy Hornet model have been completed. To start things off, I´ve made a VFA-161 A-model, perhaps not the most colorful Hornet that ever was, but soon more will follow. If you subscribe to the Hook you´ll see two Hornet illustrations in the upcoming issue (not telling you which ones!). And i´m currently working on a series of Marine Hornets that will eventually become available as prints. So let me know which ones you want me to do. Here´s my very first FA-18 Legacy Hornet...hope you like it !
