This is my first Marine lineage print, so i´ve been excited to show this to you all. This piece depicts the linegae of the VMFA-314 "Black Knights". Their first aircraft was the F4U-1 Corsair which was used in the late war years in the Pacific theater. The squadron was decommssioned in 1947, but recommissioned a few year later flying F9F-5 Panthers. In the late 50s the Panthers were traded for the more capable F4D-1 Skyray. The Phantom came into service in the early 60s, and remained in service in 1982 when the FA-18 Hornet would take the Phantoms place. The Hornet remained in squadron service until 2019, when the squadron began training on the F-35C Lightning. Please let me know how you like this new lineage print, and if there´s any other lineage print you would like to see completed. This piece will go on sale very soon.
