Fifty shades of grey – The history of the grey on the grey ghosts

Here´s the result of something i´ve been working on for the past few month: A history of the grey colors used on the US military F-4 Phantoms. After i´ve spend many years working on renditions of that particular aircraft, I´ve accumulated a bit of knowledge about the paint schemes this great look jet have been sporting, over its long service period. I thought to myself: Why not share that knowledge with you guys. So, here´s the result: Fifty shades of grey: The history of the grey colors used on US Military F-4 Phantoms. If you like it, drop me a line in the comments section ;) NB! Allow a bit of load time and make sure to read all 7 pages ;)

Finally the USAF Bomber Section have been added to this site. That means B-52s and FB-111s are now to be found on this site. Please let me know if there´s other renditions of USAF bombers you would like to see included on this page. Century series complete…almost !

The headline is what you may call, not completely true. However, there´s some truth behind it after all. The F-106 is coming along, and i thought it would be a good time to show you all a sample of how far along the Delta Dart have gotten. It´s a great looking aircraft IMHO, and the sleek lines is truly a pleasure to work on. Right now I´m thinking about modelling the landing gear too, and put it into 3d scenes (I got a landing scene in mind, that i think would look awesome...just need to figure out what colors to put on the six...suggestions are welcome). Hope you like it !
